MSC Receives Certificate of Excellence Award

And the award goes to… The New Castle Municipal Services Commission (MSC) recently received a Certificate of Excellence from the American Public Power Association (APPA) for their reliability performance. As one of only 120 public power utilities in the nation to receive this prestigious award, New Castle MSC has done incredible work to strengthen their reliability. Public power utilities nationwide, including the New Castle MSC, use APPA’s eReliability Tracker to receive reliability-related benchmarking information to analyze outage information. Utilities were chosen by APPA through a comparison of their outage records and national data gathered by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). […]

MUNICIPAL SERVICES COMMISSION REDUCES ELECTRIC RATES The Municipal Services Commission has approved a rate reduction for ALL Electric Rates. The reduction equates to a 2% decrease in energy charges for residential customers. A credit will reflect on customer’s bills as a negative Power Purchase Adjustment in the amount of ($0.0023) per kWh. A customer that uses 1,ooo kWh per month would see a credit in the amount of ($2.30) on their monthly electric bill.
