Power Saver Hours are from 3pm to 7pm. Customers are encouraged to lower their electric use during these hours to save money both now and later. IMPORTANT  UPDATE  NOTICE  TO  OUR WATER  CUSTOMERS   Hewlett, Janvier, and Megginson Avenues   Water Main Replacement Project Update #1   Project Description – Municipal Services Commission has awarded the water main replacement project to R.E. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR WATER CUSTOMERS There will be an interruption of water service on Friday, January 8th in the area of 9th Street, 10th Street, and Clayton Street. The interruption will be for repairing a water main leak at the intersection of 9th and Clayton Street.  The outage is expected to last from 8:00am until 3:00pm, but could last longer due to unforeseen complications.  The interruption may cause some discoloration of the water and allow air to enter the system.  Should you experience these conditions, please run your water until it is clear and the air has escaped from […]

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MUNICIPAL SERVICES COMMISSION RESCHEDULED FROM 1-7-2020 TO 1-16-2020 A special meeting of the Municipal Services Commission will be held Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. at the Commission’s office at 216 Chestnut Street, City of New Castle. The meeting will be to discuss converting aerial electric to underground on Delaware Street from Fourth Street to the Wharf and coordinating other utilities (Verizon/Comcast) conversion.

MSC’s Water Main Cleaning and Lining Project

We understand there has been some confusion regarding the Sewer Main relining project being performed by New Castle County with their contractor AM-Liner East, Inc. and the Municipal Services Commission (MSC) of the City of New Castle’s Water Main Cleaning and Lining Project performed by MSC’s contractor J.
