Power Savers Alert!! Due to high temperatures and increasing energy demand, we are asking municipal electric customers to VOLUNTARILY reduce electric use today, Wednesday, August 28th. Power Saver Hours are from 3pm to 7pm. Customers are encouraged to lower their electric use during these hours to save money both now and later. Participation will lower electric use throughout the community and in return lower customers’ monthly electric costs and reduce utility energy costs over time. NEWS RELEASE MSC INCREASES THE POWER PURCHASE ADJUSTMENT (PPA)

MSC increases the Power Purchase Adjustment (PPA) The Municipal Services Commission (MSC) is increasing the Power Purchase Adjustment (PPA) on their electric rates. The PPA is a mechanism that Electric Utilities use when there is an unexpected increase in power supply costs but needs time to appropriately design an electric rate. The current PPA is $0.0082 per kwh and will increase by $0.00704 per kwh. Increasing the PPA will impact the average residential electric customer approximately $5.20 per month. NEWS RELEASE   WATER METER REPLACEMENT   The Municipal Services Commission (MSC) is coming to the end of its electric and water meter replacement project. The batteries in the existing water meter communication modules have been failing. The meters still read accurately but it requires a manual read. Many customers have been providing the manual read each month but on other meters, staff has to visit the meter each month to get billing reads or estimate the read. The MSC is aware our electronic invoices are being blocked by email providers for gmail, hotmail, aol, and yahoo.  Customers still have the ability to view invoices on the portal.  Thank you for your patience while we resolve this issue.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR WATER CUSTOMERS There will be an interruption of water service on Friday, January 8th in the area of 9th Street, 10th Street, and Clayton Street.
