Due to warm temperatures and high energy demand, we are asking MSC customers to VOLUNTARILY reduce electric use today, Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Power Saver Hours are from 3pm to 6pm, with peak usage expected at 5pm. Customers are encouraged to lower their electric use during these high demand hours. This will lower electric use throughout your community and in return save you money. The more people that participate, the greater the effect. Emergency Calls Please call 302-323-2330 if you have an electric or water emergency. If the emergency is between the hours of 4:00pm to 7:30am, you will be prompted to leave a message. The message will go to the on-call operations personnel who will dispatch crews to address the issue. There will be an attempt to return your call and advise you of the status. The Municipal Services Commission (MSC) of the City of New Castle, in partnership with the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC), is excited to introduce an energy efficiency program to provide incentives and rebates for customers looking to lower their electric bills. In coordination with Efficiency Smart, the DEMEC Energy Efficiency Program features options to help residential and business customers find solutions that work best for them.
